Get ready to snap in your boots and pull down your goggles, because Opening Day at Apex Resort is just around the corner! It’s an exciting time here at Apex as we prepare for the epic 2017/18 ski season. With new owners of the resort at the helm, contagious enthusiasm abounds and we’re getting ready for what the weather forecasters tell us will be a season to remember.
This November has been all about preparing for opening day. The Apex crew is working hard to make sure everything is ready for you to 
cruise down the mountain in fresh, Okanagan champagne powder. The engine that is Apex Resort has been revving up; unlocking doors, turning on lights, cleaning and preparing. Stocking the shelves of shops, bistros, and bars. In fact, several business are now open including the GunBarrel Saloon, The Edge Bistro, Apex Guest Services and The Trading Post General Store. Guests are starting to arrive in anticipation of Opening Day…. Anticipation is in the air!
But just because we’re hard at work preparing for the new season doesn’t mean that we can’t have fun doing it! Freestyle teams from all over North America are already here, and have been training regularly. The mogul field is alive with world-class freestylers. So far, we’ve welcomed the BC Mogul team, Alberta Freestyle, the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and the Vail Freestyle Team. More teams are arriving at this time to practice on one of the best mogul courses in the world.
You may have noticed our growing digital footprint has been expanded with a new website, this blog and improved social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Keep up to date with all the events, races and happening around the resort. Each channel will have unique content so check in regularly for the latest at Apex.
The Snow Gods have looked favorably on us already with early snowfall, sending dreams of dancing powder back into our heads. Our base is nicely set and the snow is falling steady. We’ll be soon greeting you with the smiling faces we’re famous for and, sending you off up into picturesque views and excellent conditions that the Okanagan Valley is so well-known for.
We’re in the final countdown now, and we’re all enjoying reconnecting — some of us are meeting for the first time and many of the faces you know and love are here too. It’s a new season on Apex, with a new team, new owners, and new excitement of good things to come, and the wait is nearly over. See. You. Soon!
