Apex Mountain Resort’s new opening day is Friday December 9th, 2016.
The alpine base at present is looking promising with over 60 cm’s, while the village snow base is resting at 35 cm’s as of today, Tuesday November 28, 2016. The current snow level at the lower part of the mountain is not safe for us to open to the public at this time.
Due to these current conditions we have determined that the safest option for the public is for us to delay opening the mountain by one week. Apex Mountain Resort’s original opening day was scheduled for this Saturday Dec. 3rd; our new opening date will be Dec. 9th.
The overall forecast for the 2016/2017 ski season is very promising & exciting! The forecast for this season is colder and wetter than normal and we are off to a great start.
Apex Mountain Resort is the only resort in the interior with snowmaking from the top of the mountain to the bottom. Combine the snow making with mother nature and we are going to have fantastic conditions for the Christmas break.
