First of all, we would like to extend our faithful Apex family a big thanks for your patience this early season! The snow has arrived and our snow makers and groomers have worked incessantly to open lifts and terrain and things are looking great! Let’s get on with the usual business of tearing it up and whoop and hollering all over our mountain!
This Monday, December 23 we fire up the Quad Chair! Recon all over the mountain by patrol (and some unnamed banditos) has turned up some pretty sweet stashes and smile inducing lines that we are all very excited about! Get out there and enjoy it!
So here is a super cool headline we woke up to this morning… Apex Resort plays host to many international stars of freestyle skiing for early season training. We are one of the very few mountains in the world capable of providing world class training for moguls and aerialists. Things were really buzzing up here a couple weeks ago with the Sochi Winter Olympics just around the corner. Well there must have been something in the air because Canada’s Travis Gerrit just won his first World Cup Gold in Beijing inside the Birdsnest Stadium! This is the same stadium we watched the Olympic track and field events not long ago. Definitely worth a Youtube search to see the action. Congratulations Travis and best of luck to the whole Canadian squad in their Olympic buildup.
And of course… What week is it??? Very happy holidays everyone! Check out the website for extended operating hours and events. Of note, our Christmas Eve celebrations kick off at 6pm with our annual bonfire, torchlight parade, fireworks and visit from the red suited fella. If you are available to volunteer for the torchlight parade we’d love to have you! Please drop in to the Apex office between 8 and 4:30pm to sign up.
See you all on the mountain!
